Grenade Paperweights Evacuate JFK Terminal

NEW YORK (AP)  -- JetBlue has reopened its terminal at New York's Kennedy Airport following a brief evacuation due to a suspicious package.

JetBlue spokeswoman Alison Eshelman says passengers returned inside Terminal 6 at 8:15 a.m. Monday.

She says the package turned out to be WWII replica paperweights that resembled grenades. Scanners spotted them in a passenger's luggage, and the terminal was emptied around 7:50 a.m.

She could not say how many people were in the terminal at the time, but says the morning is a "slower time period'' for the airline.

JetBlue is holding a ceremony Monday to announce celebrate its new Terminal 5 facilities, which will open in October.
