NEW YORK (AP) -- A Manhattan judge says a model may remain anonymous while suing a jewelry company for showing a video in which she writhes and moans suggestively on a bed.
State Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich says publicly revealing the woman's name would only make her more uncomfortable and ``perhaps deter her from litigating the matter.''
The judge says the video attracted more than 700,000 Internet viewers before it was removed Jan. 17.
The 37-year-old woman says in her $5 million lawsuit against Szul Jewelry Inc. that she did not consent to the use of her image ``to simulate a female having an orgasm.''
The married graduate student in elementary education was paid $200 for the ad.
Szul's lawyer, Joseph P. Cervini, said Monday he did not plan to appeal the ruling. |
