'Mug Shots' of Bush Administration on Display at NYPL

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- Some think it's funny, some think it's highly inappropriate.

AUDIO: Juliet Papa Reports

There are about a half dozen doctored 'mug shots'  of President George W. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and other top administration officials, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, on display at the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue.

The exhibit, "Line Up," is the work of artists Nora Ligorano and Marshall Reese. Each Bush administration member clutches a clapboard, as in a standard mug shot, with the date of his and her "arrest" -- a day when each supposedly made "incriminating" statements regarding the Iraq war.

The installation includes audio clips of the administration members complete with the sound of a flashbulb popping and a prison door slamming. The curator of the library's print collection, said the exhibit was in keeping with a historical tradition dating back to 18th century England.

The exhibit runs through Jan. 27.

What do you think of the pictures? SOUND OFF BELOW

Bush Mug Shots
Doctored 'mug shots' of President Bush and other top officials are on display at the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue. The photos feature a date of arrest, a day when each supposedly made incriminating statements regarding the Iraq war. Do you think the photos are fun or inappropriate?
11/29/2007 1:00PM
Mug Shots
I love them!
11/29/2007 1:01PM
Ms. Pat White
Great example of free expression!
11/29/2007 1:05PM
bush
Should of used his DWI photo.
11/29/2007 1:14PM
too bad it's not for real
Bush, Cheney et al. are criminals and SHOULD be behind bars. Too bad this exhibit is only a spoof.
11/29/2007 1:28PM
This Is Art??
Pathetic attempt at humor and/or political commentary. And it took two artists to come up with this 7th grade-level attempt at being provocative?? Sad. If I had a picture of Ms.Ligrano's mother, I'd photoshop her having sex with a horse. It's that easy.
11/29/2007 1:34PM
?!?!?!?!?
I'm really not sure how this supports our troops? Remember we are at war!
11/29/2007 1:41PM
Perfect!
I just showed them to my Chinese co-worker and she commented 'you would never see such a thing in China'. It's an excellent example of our free expression and sad to say that a criminal element does in fact exist in the Bush administration.
11/29/2007 1:43PM
disappointed
In my opinion, these pictures are disrespectful.
11/29/2007 1:53PM
Keep 'em up
Complaints about inappropriateness are partisan. You wouldn't hear a word from these folks if it was Clinton 10 years ago (they'd leave it to Democrats instead).
11/29/2007 1:57PM
Free Speech at its BEST
You gotta love it!
11/29/2007 2:00PM
Great!
Couldn't have said it better myself!
11/29/2007 2:03PM
AWESOME CRIMINALS
Best photos ever taken of politicians!!
11/29/2007 2:09PM
CRIMINALS
all they need are bars acorss there chests. they are all criminals
11/29/2007 2:10PM
Disgraced
These pictures are just another example of liberals not understanding the world today. This is considered art - i consider it treason !
11/29/2007 2:10PM
Jim Roper
sometime a picture is worth a thousand words, these are worth a million,or should we say billions
11/29/2007 2:12PM
!!!!!
Why??? Would someone please think of the children!!!
11/29/2007 2:12PM
Sad
Sad how this country has fallen apart. Our enemies, the islamists, are laughing at us, and looking forward to the day when the U.S. falls under shari'a law.
11/29/2007 2:18PM
treason?
Treason is defined as a betrayal of trust or confidence. Who was first to betray the American people? This art display is pathetic only in that it is a small voice of logic and reason amid a storm of blind-pseudo patriotism and hatred of "liberals."The American way calls for the continutity of the free voice of democracy. If you stand against people with an opinion - yoa are in fact against the American way.
11/29/2007 2:21PM
Brilliant!
Given that every member of the inner circle of today's administration should be tried for war crimes for the atrocities they are committing in the unjust and unnecessary war in Iraq, portraying them as criminals is only fitting. Too bad they aren't real. I'd love to see all of 'em behind bars for real.
11/29/2007 2:31PM
It's not the 20th century anymore
Lighten up. You want technology this is what happens. Besides it must be true or nobody would care.
11/29/2007 2:32PM
Treason without A doubt
Art not what one dose for attention. Expression of the truth to one self. Behind bars with you. An outlandish disgrace, to our Commander & Cheif.
11/29/2007 2:34PM
CLINTON'S
Just missing the Clinton's in stripes
11/29/2007 2:34PM
Clinton Charges
Real Estate Fraud Sexual Harassment Perjury Obstruction of Justice Dereliction of Duty: Placed NO checks on growth of, no made any military move on Al Qaeda, even when directly attacked. Treason: Sale of Top Weapons Tech to China. War Crimes: 2,000 innocent Serbs killed, every bridge on the Danube destroyed by American Bombs, dropped on Civilian Targets from American Planes with convenient NATO markings, all on his order.
11/29/2007 2:34PM
pathetic
What a nasty piece of so called "art".We have troops still over in Iraq. Another way of Liberals showing they are against us. How sad this country looks with pictures displayed like this. I guess the library has nothing better to show.
11/29/2007 2:36PM
Arrest Him
Great. The only thing that would make this better were if he were actually under arrest.
11/29/2007 2:36PM
WAKE UP
THE WHOLE BUSH ADMINISTRATION IS FILLED WITH LYING LAW BREAKERS. (NOT ONE REASONS USED TO JUSTIFY THE WAR WAS TRUE)... WE SHOULD HAVE USED 160000 PLUS TROOPS TO LOOK FOR OSAMA BEFORE WE TRIED TO TO MAKE IRAQ OUR 51ST STATE
11/29/2007 2:38PM
IMPEACH BUSH
CLINTONS LIES DID NOT CAUSE A WAR, DID NOT CAUSE A SURPLUS TO GO INTO A DEBT.. WHAT HAPPENED TO OSAMA? HOW COME WE NEVER HAD OUR TROOPS ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR HIM
11/29/2007 2:38PM
THINK OF OUR OWN FIRST
maybe if they started to think of the poor AMERICANS adults and children that go to bed hungry and are sick, with no medical attention, maybe maybe then pictures like the above would not surface
11/29/2007 2:39PM
FAKE WAR
ALL THE REASONS WE WENT INTO IRAQ WERE FALSE!!!!!!!!!! WE WERE TRICKED BY OUR GOVERNMENT.
11/29/2007 2:41PM
REFRESHINGLY AMUSING
Nice amusing photos and maybe a reality some day ,you never now,but right now its a little refreshing to see some fun in politics..
11/29/2007 2:47PM
What else do you expect?
Liberals are America's Communists. They loathe America and all who stand for it. Just like the USSR, their days will come...and go.
11/29/2007 2:48PM
To pathetic
"Another way of Liberals showing they are against us". I'm sorry but how do you interpret those pictures as being "against" you. If anything, it's for you. Just because someone is against the war, does not mean they don't support the troops. Our so called leaders have done nothing but lie to us and it's about time we brought our troops home safely instead of being killed everyday for lies. So no, we are not against you, we are for you.
11/29/2007 2:48PM
Great subject, wrong venue...
I disagree with the venue in which the show is being held at, however I am in total agreement with the subject matter. It figures that the supporters of this administration are the first ones to scream how wrong it is, yet if it were the Clintons in place of our current leadership in those photos, they would host the show in their own homes if they could, and also tell you in detail every single thing they felt the Clintons did wrong. Remember that the next time you fill your gas tank.
11/29/2007 2:49PM
whatever
blah, blah, blah stop trying to overanalyze everything. it's a joke and we're still laughing at Clinton.
11/29/2007 2:52PM
Disgraceful garbage
NYPL should be ashamed of themselves! Disrepectful and harmful to everyone.
11/29/2007 2:53PM
Brainwashed
I look at these comments and see the power of the media to brainwash the ignorant. The comments are just another sad example of if you repeat anything enough people will believe it.
11/29/2007 2:54PM
From The future
Ahead of its time
11/29/2007 3:03PM
Eh
This is disgraceful and pathetic. And that's just the whiners around here. The pictures are funny as hell, and very apt.
11/29/2007 3:03PM
WAR CRIMES
This could be a prelude to these scabs being tried for war crimes. Imagine invading a sovereign country for a made-up reason. Despicable!
11/29/2007 3:03PM
Useless
worthless piece of junk.
11/29/2007 3:04PM
So courageous! NOT
Now how about a picture of Mohammed up there? Oh yeah, we have to respect him...
11/29/2007 3:04PM
Where this entire Bush Adminstration should be!!!
Finally...American Freedom of Expression at it's best...Great Example of our Inalienable Rights as American's...Exactly what our Forefathers wanted for this Nation...May they Rest In Peace...
11/29/2007 3:05PM
Fantastic
For all you people who are offended by this artist....stop and think. This is America, land of the free. If you don't like it, don't look at it. You have the choice. This War is not about freedom, it's about the old mighty greedy dollar. They should be put behind bars.
11/29/2007 3:10PM
Pathetic Liberal Attempt at Art
Bet the artists are both liberals. What a piece of garbage guess they are not very good artists if that is all they can come up with. Amazing what is considered art.
11/29/2007 3:11PM
Wish it was for real
As they say, A picture is worth a thousand words .
11/29/2007 3:11PM
FUTURE JUSTICE
What will one day turn into reality for all those in this admistration!!!...Who have decieved us all into believing the "Lies" that forced all American's into this Nightmare of War...For all our child to bare witness and later pass comment of our misjudgement.
11/29/2007 3:13PM
No talent
Garbage at its best.
11/29/2007 3:13PM
Excellent Display
These politicians in the Bush Administration should all be behind bars!!!
11/29/2007 3:15PM
Good Work
These are pictures of truth!!!
11/29/2007 3:15PM
thinkaboutit
Is he ever going to get arrested for stealing the presidency? By the way, where is Osama?
11/29/2007 3:17PM
No Where At All
It's this type of bickering that gets us nowhere. We need to start moving forward.
11/29/2007 3:23PM
More liberal propaganda
How about a little respect for the office of President regardless of your political views!
11/29/2007 3:26PM
First Amendment At Its Best
Whether you love them (I do) or hate them, these photos are proof positive that our most essential rights as American citizens under the Bill of Rights are alive and well. Kudos to the artists.
11/29/2007 3:27PM
Freedom
The authors of these photos hate our freedom
11/29/2007 3:30PM
The whole government
the whole government should be thrown in jail. It's time for all people to stop being slaves.
11/29/2007 3:31PM

I'm disappointed they are not real!
11/29/2007 3:34PM
AMERICA TODAY
50% completely retarded followers and 50% capable of independant thought and common sense DEATH TO PARTISANSHIP!
11/29/2007 3:34PM
Ms. C
Despite what people feel about our politics, this is disrespectful and degrading. The Muslims are laughing at us and rightfully so.
11/29/2007 3:35PM
too bad
they didn't show em all in the chair
11/29/2007 3:36PM
THINK ABOUT IT
If you don't agree with what somebody says, please refrain from calling them "liberals" and then equating librals with communists (this is outrageous). When you generalize, your lack of education shows.
11/29/2007 3:36PM
UNITED States
Are we really? For all who have referred to our government leaders as "criminals" and continue to spout hatred %u2013 Do you truly believe that this administration conspired to defraud our entire country, and all of the people that make up this great land? They conspired to defraud the same people that voted them into office!!????!! The fact is, decisions were made based on the intelligence available at the time, and your beloved democratic senator from New York voted for it. As it pertains to this trash on display at the NYPL, it%u2019s not productive and only serves to further drive a wedge among the American people, when we should be pulling together.
11/29/2007 3:36PM
Throw Away the Key !!
Great pics of three of the pathetic idiots that have run our country into the ground !!
11/29/2007 3:45PM
Great!!
So very fitting.
11/29/2007 3:49PM
Gibsnonic
What a wonderful irony: an exhibit that promotes our freedom of expression is filled with images of those people who believe LEAST in the freedom of expression. I applaud the artist; the Bush administration IS a bunch of war criminals!!!
11/29/2007 3:51PM
Self-Revealing
Says more about the Artists than the subject. No mention of killing 2,800 innocents at WTC! SAD
11/29/2007 3:57PM
Love the Double Standard
I agree with the person who posted this "Disgraced These pictures are just another example of liberals not understanding the world today. This is considered art - i consider it treason ! " Heaven forbid someone did this to Clinton a few years ago
11/29/2007 3:58PM
Democracy
We've elected the president to uhold the right to such expressions whatever they right or wrong. However. I respect his right as an individual to sue for slander.

Well, I think that Bill and Hillary would be more than qualified to show them the ropes in whatever prison they wind up in.
11/29/2007 4:01PM
If it's a 'free' country . . .
. . .there shouldn't be a problem with this.
11/29/2007 4:01PM
Long Live the First Ammendment
To all of those who have complained -- If you don't agree with the message of this art, then please create your own artwork or other form of expression... oh wait you already did by contributing to this online message board. See how wonderful our liberties are?! By the way, fighting a war in Iraq has 0% to do with defending our liberties. There was not a single direct threat to our "American way of life" or our freedom that was posed by Iraq's horrible dictatorship or it's people. That war is a shameful act on our part and we are deserving of whatever comes to us in the end. Because it will come back to haunt us.
11/29/2007 4:02PM
To the Photographers
thanks for the laughs Nora and Marshall.
11/29/2007 4:03PM
Here come The DEMOCRATS
Hide your wallets
11/29/2007 4:03PM
WHY
WHY? this does nothing for me or the troops. I can only hope that no tax's payers money was used for this
11/29/2007 4:04PM
Real Nice
Althought I prefer them to be at the end of a noose, I'll take these. These two and Cheney are the biggest terrorist out there. As for the troops, I don't want to see them hurt but they can just turn around and start to head home after the lies were reveiled. The Generals cannot stop them if they all just say enough is enough. Put their kids out there is they truley believe it is so worthy. Enough said!!!!!!
11/29/2007 4:08PM
Worst President and Administration in history
Let's see...lied to all of America about the war, refuse to join the Kyoto treaty to limit global warming, veto a children's health care bill, kill all those dedicated soliders serving in the Armed Forces because of a personal vendetta, how many more things shall I list? All you conservatives better wake up! Australia just booted their blind and close minded conservative Prime Minister. The USA is next in 2008. Time to vote out this administration. November 2008 can't come fast enough.
11/29/2007 4:11PM

11/29/2007 4:11PM
garbage
the library continues to show no respect for the president. That is common, they show even less respect for tgeir own employees. What a disgrace.
11/29/2007 4:13PM
Where's Bill and Hillary
How about Ted Kennedy, too?
11/29/2007 4:13PM
Huh?
Anyone supporting Bush needs a mug shot of their very own......
11/29/2007 4:14PM
DOWN WITH HILL!!
UP WITH BILL!!! all his lies cost us was a lot of tax payers money... probably not even fraction of the cost it takes to build a submarine.. If you look at what Bush and his administration have lied about its sickening.. and the rest of the world is laughing at us.
11/29/2007 4:14PM
Disgusted
What a disgrace!Total lack of respect for elected leaders;you want to show crooks, show real crooks, like Bill and Hillary
11/29/2007 4:14PM
Shameful
Our country enemies are acchieving their goals to make use as crazy and shameless as they are..
11/29/2007 4:16PM
Wishful thinking
They should be in jail.
11/29/2007 4:17PM
Shameful
This is just what the Islamist want us to do and think. The people doing this show that they side with them. It is also disappointing how this country does not side with our president. Our enemies, the islamists, are laughing at us, and looking forward to the day when the U.S. falls under shari'a law.
11/29/2007 4:19PM
Criminals at Last
If only in Photoshop. I wish them a long life so they can stay in jail and atone for their crimes once they are brought to justice.
11/29/2007 4:22PM
Americans, shame on you!!!
Only in this country you are allowed to smear the acting President, who was btw elected by the majority. That's what you called DEMOCRACY AND FREE SPEECH???
11/29/2007 4:22PM
A True American
Take into consideration the type of people that did this; they are the traitors. As for the anti-Bush comments; you should all be charged with treason.
11/29/2007 4:27PM
Very Fitting
They are all criminals!
11/29/2007 4:28PM
B/C
Dealing with this regime like parents dealing with sneaky kids. "We are willing to help you.We are willing to help you get out of the mess you got yourself into, but we can't help you unless you tell us the truth.
11/29/2007 4:29PM
Excellent
Wish I'd thought of it! Maybe sometime in the next year we'll get to see this happen for real
11/29/2007 4:29PM
American
They are all murders, we went to war to protect Israel from Sadam, wolfowitz, Krystal, Perle,AIPAC etc, along with the owo dirt bags Bush, Cheney and the whole administration should be tried for war crimes
11/29/2007 4:30PM
It's about time!
We all know who's who & where they belong. We have an unjust war, over 4,000 dead solders, 6,000 homeless vets of Irag & Afghanistan war, disabled vets with no jobs, NO OSAMA in sight, almost every country hate the U.S. Colin Powell may have lied but he knew when to get out of the picture.
11/29/2007 4:33PM
Ultra Conservative From Texas
Regardless of your political position, pictures of our public officials in this manner is inappropriate. I'd be offended if it was Hillary, Barack or ANY public official. So America, Grow up!
11/29/2007 4:35PM
Love It
Too bad it's just an exhibit. These traitors of America and the Consitution deserve to be behind bars.
11/29/2007 4:36PM
Good bye
If the "artists" hate our president so much they should move to another country like the movie stars said they would, but never did. Lets see if they can do this in some other country.
11/29/2007 4:38PM
Great Stuff
This shows the world that American's don't care for their own President. George Bush make the average hard working American look like a fool when traveling overseas. I constantly have to say I didn't vote for that idiot. I'm soooo glad that he can'trun again. But I agree with another person earlier that they should have his DWI picture. Or maybe that will be in the next series. Free speech at its BEST.
11/29/2007 4:40PM
Just plain sad.
While i certainly support the "artists" (in quotes due to the fact that any one of us could create this "art" in a matter of seconds on Photoshop) rights of free expression, there was once a time where our leaders were respected, even if they were disagreed with or simply not liked. Now it's in vogue to trash Bush and the Republicans (while seemingly believing that our Democrat leaders can do no wrong), unfortunately often by individuals who are tremendously ignorant as to actual reality, and merely are regurgitaing what they think to be the "cool" opinion. When the Dems take the White House in 2008 (a sad truth that is nigh unavoidable), perhaps this segment of the public will wake up and realize that the large number of problems in our country have nothing to do with whether it's an Elephant or Donkey in charge.
11/29/2007 4:48PM
U.S Gov't does this all the time
Isn't this just like the Bush Administration presented to the U.N. documentation of weapons of mass destruction? I don't see a difference. Wait these pictures should be real and the documentation of weapons of mass destruction was actually fake.
11/29/2007 4:53PM
Getting what they deserve
After all of their criminal behavior, about they got tried....even if only in the media. Thank god less than a year to go with this bunch!!!
11/29/2007 4:54PM
it's just wrong
this is just disrespectful, and is pseudo intellectualism.
11/29/2007 4:58PM
Biased Free Speech in an Election Year
Just to be fair - where are the mug shots of Clinton with the murder of Vincent Foster? Ted Kennedy with the murder of Mary Jo? YOung Kennedy smashing into Capital police cars drunk/stoned?
11/29/2007 5:02PM
Play Ball !!!!!!!
Bill Clinton / Coverup Flight 800 making US armed forces able to respond only after a nuclear 1st strike / Hill - caught pre-arranging college speech questions in advance
11/29/2007 5:06PM
In Response a few
Get your lazy ass up to do something that might really be considered making a difference. You could make much more progress by not spending all your time supporting other asses who do nothing but ridicule. I hope you never have to find out what war really is like up close. Despite what you think, until such time as your elected President and Commander in Chief is no longer in office, you as an American should stand behind your country's choice. Our forefathers wanted this 'freedom of expression'??? You need to go to school and this time get an education so that YOU can guide the free world. In the view of many right now, the only diff. between a public toilet and the NYPL is that the toilet doesn't pretend to be something else.
11/29/2007 5:06PM
Constitutional Protection
These pictures represent the only real outcome that will protect our Constitution and our democracy.
11/29/2007 5:13PM
to Long Live the 1st Ammendment
(There was not a single direct threat to our "American way of life" or our freedom that was posed by Iraq's horrible dictatorship or it's people.) WELL AREN'T WE SMUG IN THE FACT THAT YOU LIVE HERE AND SOMEONE IS PROTECTING YOU. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE,SOMEONE HAS TO KEEP IT ALIVE. SAY...WHY DON'T YOU GO TO IRAQ!!
11/29/2007 5:14PM
So-called 'conservatives' puzzle
Why, if you are a supposed 'conservative' are you for a ridiculously feeble-minded war, and a spendthrift lying thief of a president? This not only costs untold lives, it is ruining our economy!
11/29/2007 5:20PM
Standing behind Bush and his band of thieves and murderers
I can't stand behind any of them, because I have integrity. Anyone who calls themselves patriotic should be screaming for their heads. Instead, too many lie down like cowards, offering children's lives overseas, and burning down our economy. And you call yourselves 'conservatives'!!!
11/29/2007 5:21PM
Never Offended
They're just pictures. Are those that are calling this treason suggesting that we should open up art exhibits to vetting by the NSA? What's next, spying on library records and roving wiretaps....oh, really....already?!?!?
11/29/2007 5:22PM
Where's Bill?
Where's the mug shot of the only president in recent times to actually have been indicted, i.e., impeached? Worse than the stupid, adolescent pictures is the even more juvenile comments here by those who are so misguided and ignorant of the truth.
11/29/2007 5:25PM
Love it!
I think these are terrific! And, are there posters of these we can buy?
11/29/2007 5:25PM
Dont look at it
This is exactly what the untalented "artists" want, for people to talk about this. The best thing is not to go see it, and ignore it and them. It shows that it is junk and the only way for them to get shown is to stir up arguments. We should be sticking together to fight a common enemy
11/29/2007 5:29PM
Let's love not hate:
People from other parts of the world risk their lives to land on America the Beautiful.Appreciate this land of freedom, but please also respect yourselves from acts of hatred. If our leaders are not good enough, please constructively help make them better with good suggestions and acts, not to tear them down...and thus this greatest country on earth.
11/29/2007 5:35PM
Ashamed
This is what makes me ashamed to be a American, people that put down our country
11/29/2007 5:40PM
LOVING IT
IT'S TOO BAD IT ISN'S FOR REAL BECAUSE THE MEMBER OF THE BUSH ADMININSTRATION ARE ALL CRIMINALS AND SHOULD BE PUT BEHIND BARS FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE TO THIS COUNTRY
11/29/2007 5:41PM
Junk
It would be displayed in NY, a liberal place with no morals, I am born there so I see how they act. No class.

Bush was selected, not elected
Bush was selected by rogue members of the supreme court. He and they should be thrown in jail for the rest of their lives.
11/29/2007 6:04PM
great
justice for all
11/29/2007 6:12PM
Where's All the Politicians?
Every one of them should be up there, not just Bush.
11/29/2007 6:33PM

11/29/2007 6:44PM
The Bush Crime Family Galleria
Too bad these murderers are protected by CIA. Otherwise, they would be prosecuted under the RICO statutes.
11/29/2007 6:55PM
The World Watches
and laughs as a few non disciplined citzens feel its appropriate to mock the office of President. What makes us different from the rest. It's sure not this.
11/29/2007 6:59PM
just wrong!
All the haters just hate our freedoms and way of life. I hope they make them take these awful pictures down. It should be illegal.
11/29/2007 7:18PM
disgraceful
besides being the President , this is the office of the President of the United States, people that think it is funny, or appropriate should be ashamed.
11/29/2007 7:32PM
MUG SHOTS
RIGHT ON!!!! BUSH & CHENEY ARE TWO OF THE WORST CRIMINALS TO EVER HAVE INHABITATED THE PLANET.
11/29/2007 7:43PM
IT SHOULD BE A REALITY!!!
It's where this coke-sniffing Bush should be! We need someone who lives up to the title of President!
11/29/2007 7:45PM
censorship vs freedom
If you think these photos should be taken down, then you're ALL for censorship and have no idea what this country is about.
11/29/2007 7:46PM
It's comin' around
too bad it can't really happen; the halliburton presidency made sure of that...
11/29/2007 7:47PM
the truth hurts
these politicians have blood on their hands. All for their own financial gain. I approve wholeheartedly of the exhibit. Naysayers: open your eyes!
11/29/2007 7:53PM
jail them!
Just like the teacher in the Sudan who is being jailed for naming a toy...maybe those against the exhibit should move to a country where freedom of expression is punished.
11/29/2007 7:55PM
the World knows...
that this war is being conducted by a fascist regime in Washington. They should be prosecuted for benefitting financially from this war. Look up Condoleeza Rice and CHEVRON.
11/29/2007 8:19PM
run them out of office
thay distroyed our country
11/29/2007 8:28PM
Disgusting
Such hate should not be tolerated against any sitting President.
11/29/2007 9:24PM
Borat(ism), mockumentary
with freedom comes responsibility. childish and mean with the support of the public dollar...forget about looking at the photos, we should be looking at ourselves. There are serious issues that should be addressed directly. not with this ezample of ignorance in an insitution of intellegence
11/29/2007 9:27PM
Hmmm....
I'm hesitant to pass judgment on an art exhibit without seeing it firsthand. For example, after all the controversy about "Piss Christ" some years ago, I saw the artwork in question and two aspects of it made me think the controversy had been blown out of proportion: It was very small to begin with, and it was part of a series including more innocuous works like "Milk Christ," "Blood Christ," etc. That said, I agree with the apparent political statement being made by the photos at the New York Public Library, but I believe they consitute political speech more than artistic speech. So I wonder whether a public and (one hopes) politically neutral library is the right place to display them.

Jeffrey Allen Miller
Everyone ashamed of posting their real names I guess. These mugs are great. Too bad we can't arrest Bush and friends for the crimes they've committed here at home and abroad.
11/29/2007 9:51PM
Brilliant
Bush and his cronies are really thugs and it's high time for an impeachment hearing!
11/29/2007 9:58PM
Brilliant
Impeach Bush!
11/29/2007 10:00PM
Angela Albano
Well it's about time! Someday maybe they will be real ones!

Banal
Nora & Marshall have wasted the opportunity to use a public space as a venue to stimulate the viewer%u2019s mind with a thought provoking piece of art. The comments here are of the political bent %u2013 I like my guy, I hate your guy. Nothing deeper than Kate Moss%u2019s navel. A campaign button could have inspired the same knee-jerk comments from the rabble of both political factions. This installation is dull, juvenile, and unoriginal. It does not meet the criteria of true art. It%u2019s a shame that their limited imaginations didn%u2019t create something with more intrinsic value. I hope this offal was funded by the private sector and not by government grants. Somewhere a true artist is frustrated that they do not have an arena to present their works, and these nitwits of dubious talent get to bask in the notoriety caused by stirring the feelings of the lowest common denominator. Charlatans
11/29/2007 10:11PM
Do not deny America this great art!
Bush and his henchmen as criminals?! Are those mugshots?! Oh, ha ha ha ha! It takes a daring artist to produce something so fresh.
11/29/2007 10:17PM
The truth
People should lighten up about the pictures - they are only made up. To those that cry about the war - did you know that 47,000 Americans die EVERY YEAR due to car crashes? and how many of are troops are die protecting our freedom - not even a tenth of that.
