11-Year-Old Girl Shot in Chest in East New York

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A heated argument between a mother and her boyfriend resulted in the shooting of the woman's 11-year-old daughter in the East New York section of Brooklyn.

Authorities say the girl was hit in the chest and the bullet was lodged in her shoulder. She has been taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.

Police believe the mother's boyfriend opened fire and shot through a bedroom door from an interior hallway after it was slammed in his face during an argument inside a second floor apartment at 660 Hendrix Street. Police say he missed his intended target and shot the 11-year-old girl.
