2 Men Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl, 8, at Family BBQ

Two Queens men were arrested Monday after a girl told police they had inappropriately touched her during a family barbecue in New Jersey, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
On Sunday, the 8-year-old girl told Ramsey detectives that Fernando Guaman, 22, of Jackson Heights, touched her vagina over her clothing during the barbecue at her home in Bergen County, authorities said. Following the first alleged incident, she told police Manuel Bermeo, 34, of Jamaica touched her in the same way as Guaman but in a separate room of the home.
Bermeo attended the party with Guaman, authorities said.
Guaman and Bermeo were placed under arrest and charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. They are both in the country illegally and federal authorities have been notified of their arrests and warrant detainers have been requested, authorities said.
They are both being held on $250,000 bond. |
