The accident occurred just before 3 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the parkway near Merrick Road, police said. The parkway was closed earlier this morning as police investigated the scene, however it has since re-opened.
The 22-year-old Bayville man who was driving the Honda Civic, a 19-year-old Wantagh woman who was in the front seat and a 23-year-old Bronx man who was in the back seat were all killed in the crash, police said.
A 19-year-old Amityville woman was critically injured and taken to Nassau University Medical Center with a broken pelvis and other broken bones, police said.
The victim's names have not been released.
Police believe that the car was speeding and lost control as it went around a curve in the road, slamming into a tree.
Open and unopened beer cans were found inside the car, but it is unclear if alcohol consumption played a role in the crash, police said.
