9-Year-Old Boy Critical after Hit-and-Run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- Police say the alleged driver in a hit-and-run incident that left a 9-year-old in critical condition surrendered to authorities Tuesday night.

The boy was walking home from school at P.S. 262 with his mother when he was struck Tuesday afternoon in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police said. 

The boy was rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses say the boy was crossing the street at Malcolm X Boulevard with his mother and a crossing guard present when he was struck by a white Dodge Charger.

Police are investigating the incident.
