AAA Report: Honolulu, NYC Most Expensive Destinations

NEW YORK (AP)  -- AAA says New York City is the second most expensive tourist destination this summer, behind only Honolulu.

It will cost two adults about $670 for meals and lodging for two days in the Hawaiian city, according to a 2008 AAA vacation survey.

Tourists in New York can expect to spend around $600 for two adults in two days. Miami ranks third, with cost of $370. Bargain hunters should head to Albuquerque, N.M. where it costs only $179.

AAA has been tracking vacation costs since 1950, when it was only $13 a day for meals and lodging combined.
