Fiery Crash on the B.Q.E. Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Hurt

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- One person was killed in a fiery crash on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Thursday morning.

1010 WINS AUDIO: John Montone reports

A tractor-trailer hauling cement was traveling westbound on the B.Q.E. when it slammed into the divider and slid into the eastbound lanes at around 6 a.m. The cab separated from the body of the rig and was hit by a car near the Kosciuszko Bridge, fire officials said.

The driver of the truck was killed and two others were seriously hurt.

Two lanes of the B.Q.E. were closed in both directions during an investigation, backing up traffic for miles.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
