NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) -- A suspect is dead after falling from a fire escape trying to flee a drug bust of a ninth-floor heroin lab in the Bronx, authorities said.

A man and two women tried to flee the Drug Enforcement Administration raid Wednesday by jumping from a ninth-floor balcony to a six-floor balcony. The man died and the two women were injured and hospitalized.
The DEA said investigators recovered a large quantity of drugs and processing paraphernalia from the apartment, and 11 other people found there have been arrested.
The names of the arrested and of their lawyers have not been released.
