Bear Sightings Put Rockland County Residents On Edge

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP)  -- Two possible bear sightings in Rockland County have Clarkstown town police advising residents to take precautions.

1010 WINS AUDIO: Al Jones reports

One of the bears was seen rummaging for food near Clarkstown North High School on Congers Road Thursday night.

Another sighting was earlier in the day in Congers, about one mile from the school on the other side of the Lake DeForrest Reservoir. Police could not say for sure but believe it's the same bear on the move.

Police are advising people to keep their garbage tightly covered and not to leave any food outside.
