School Bus Carrying Summer Camp Students Crashes into Synagogue

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- Day camp students leaving a local synagogue on their way to a bowling alley ended up in a local hospital instead.

Steve Sandberg reports

The school bus was leaving the Congregation Sons of Israel Synagogue, when it crashed into the building at 150 Grand Avenue in Leonia, N.J. Tuesday morning.

It appears the bus may have been in reverse when the driver thought it was in drive, according to officials.

Several children suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital to be evaluated.
