Cops: Bank Robber Dies after Fall from Elevated Subway Track in Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- A man accused of robbing a bank fell to his death after trying to jump from an elevated subway track onto a roof in Queens Monday.

Al Jones reports

Police say the man robbed a Capital One bank on Lefferts Boulevard in the Richmond Hill section of the borough. The man allegedly fled from the police and jumped onto the elevated tracks of the A train.

The man died after trying to jump on the second-floor roof of a building at the corner of 113th Street and Liberty Avenue, police say. He had run about five blocks on the tracks before attempting the jump.

Police are investigating.
