DEER PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Police say a man who robbed a Long Island bank and escaped on foot was found hiding in some bushes 10 minutes later and was arrested.
Suffolk County police say the man entered a Bank of America branch in Deer Park at 12:38 p.m. Wednesday and told the tellers to give him money or he'd kill them.
Police say the tellers gave him cash and he ran off.
They say a bank customer followed the robber to a house a few blocks away and called 911.
Officers say they saw the robber hiding in some brush and arrested him at 12:48 p.m.
The 26-year-old Mastic resident has been charged with one count of robbery. He's being held until his arraignment Thursday. |
