Police: Rutgers Student Struck with Gun, Robbed on Campus

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP)  -- Two men robbed a Rutgers University student in his on-campus apartment and struck him in the head with a gun, police said.

The men took the 22-year-old man's cell phone and cash after forcing their way into his residence shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

The robbery was at the Silvers Apartments on the university's Busch campus in Piscataway.

University police say the student was treated for his head wound and released from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
