NEW FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) -- State police say they have arrested a 12-year-old for allegedly bringing a homemade bomb to New Fairfield High School.
The boy's name is not being released because he is a juvenile. State police say he admitted bringing a homemade bomb to school and also making five others that he was keeping in his home.
State police bomb technicians searched his home and found and seized numerous illegal fireworks. They also searched the high school as a precaution.
Police say the school's assistant vice principal found the homemade bomb in the student's locker Friday morning.
He is charged with manufacturing a bomb and possession of illegal fireworks and is due to appear in juvenile court on April 21.
