Father of Three Critically Injured in Bronx Hit and Run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- A pedestrian was in critical condition Monday after being struck in a hit and run crash in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx last night.

Steve Sandberg reports

Octavio Reyes, 58, a married father of three, was hit after he parked his car and then attempted to cross Bruckner Blvd. on his way home at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday, family members said.

The vehicle -- described as a black Lincoln Town Car -- was traveling southbound on Bruckner Blvd. when the crash occurred.

Police say the car sustained heavy front end damage as a result of the crash.

Reyes was taken to Lincoln Hospital and is said to be in critical condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
