Doug O'Brien

Doug O'Brien began as a disc jockey in 1965 in Corning, NY. Since then he's held every radio station position except maintenance engineer at stations in upstate New York, South Carolina, Japan, Indiana and New York City. He's also been a television news anchor, as well as TV director and studio cameraman.

New Yorkers would know him for his tenure as News Director of WNBC-AM and CD 101.9, and as General Manager of WNYC AM & FM. Besides anchoring the news on 1010 WINS, he also does the business news from time to time for the ABC Radio Network.

Doug is a lawyer, and though he doesn't practice he is very active in the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He serves on the Salvation Army's Media Advisory Committee and is a former Marine. Doug is married to fellow 1010 WINS anchor Catherine Smith and has one daughter, Heather, a sophomore at Purdue University.
