Cops: Drunk Driver Crashes into Storefront, 2 Dead

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- A Queens driver has been arrested on vehicular manslaughter charges after crashing into a storefront, killing two of his passengers.

Police say 28-year-old Stephen Bush of Coldspring Road in Queens was arrested Saturday on charges that also include drunken driving.

29-year-old Wayne Burnette and 33-year-old Nelson Garfield, both of Far Rockaway, died in the 3:30 a.m. wreck on Rockaway Boulevard. A third passenger suffered minor injuries.

Police say the driver was unhurt. He has no listed phone number, and it is unclear whether he has a lawyer.

A rash of car crashes on New York City sidewalks over two days last month left 22 bystanders hurt. Four were seriously wounded in the four separate wrecks.
