Eileen Lehpamer



Eileen Lehpamer is an award-winning reporter who joined CBS-owned 1010 WINS, New York, in 1997.

Eileen was born and raised in New York, and truly knows the city, its' neighborhoods, and its' people. Eileen has two Edward R. Murrow awards to her credit, along with awards from The Associated Press, The New York Press Club, The Society of Professional Journalists and the Press Club of Long Island for both her television and radio reporting.

She was one of the first reporters at the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001 and was reporting live on 1010 WINS moments after the second plane hit. Most recently, she was the first WINS reporter on scene after the Corey Lidle plane crash, and won an Edward R. Murrow as part of 1010 WINS' breaking news coverage.

In addition to her reporting and breaking news skills, Eileen is a versatile journalist, handling the top newsroom editor position at WINS. She also currently serves as an on-camera general assignment reporter for News 12 Long Island. Her background includes time as a news writer at WABC-TV and WPIX-TV, and a reporter for the NPR-affiliate WFUV-FM, and the B-B-C, WOR and WABC radio.

Eileen is an active member of the exclusive Inner Circle of City Hall Journalists, inducted in 2005. She is also published in the book: Covering Catastrophe: Broadcast Journalists Report September 11th.

Eileen received a BA from Fordham University in the Bronx. She lives in Manhattan.
