Tri-State Still Baking Under Heat Wave

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AccuWeather)  -- The sizzle continued this weekend with another day of temperatures in the 90s and it's expected to last a few more days.

The National Weather Service has extended the heat advisory currently issued for New York City until 6 p.m. Monday.

But the humidity in many places made it feel more like 101.

New Yorkers can get some relief at one of several cooling centers in the five boroughs.

New Jersey is still sweltering under a heat wave that is expected to last at least through Monday.

Temperatures reached 98 in Newark, 94 in Atlantic City, and 96 in Trenton on Sunday. With humidity, it felt more like it was 100.

The heat wave is expected to last through Monday. But meteorologists say it won't feel as bad because temperatures will be in the low 90s with less humidity.

Tropical Storm Cristobal will also be passing by, but it will be far enough out at sea that the biggest effect will be waves churned up on the coast.
