Dr. Brian McDonough on High Blood Pressure and Children

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- Children can get high blood pressure.

Clearly, high blood pressure in children is not as common as it is in adults, but its clear children can have high blood pressure and the problems associated with it. The important thing to realize is that high blood pressure is just as easy to diagnose in children as it is in adults. All you have to do is look.

That’s why you have to have your children have their blood pressure checks when they see the doctor. Now, most doctors will do that. You also should find out what is the problem with the pressure ad how it can de dealt with.

I believe it’s very important that you evaluate this in children, and you don’t let it go too far. If there is a new for control, it has to be done because remember, high blood pressure causes damage over time.
