MINEOLA, N.Y. (AP) -- A Long Island man convicted of breaking into a home and abducting a woman who was later robbed and raped at gunpoint has been sentenced to 100 years to life in prison.
Christopher Pearce was convicted in May of rape, robbery, burglary and kidnapping.
Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice called the Aug. 30 attack on the 39-year-old mother of two ``every person's worst nightmare.''
The intruder made the victim drive to two ATMs and withdraw $600. She later was sexually attacked at an underground parking garage in Freeport. The man then forced her to drive back to her Roosevelt home, where he left her without clothing. |
