Larry C. Mullins- 1010 WINS Anchor

....has been hanging around microphones and TV camera’s for over 30 years (which is amazing because he insists that he’s only 28). Larry joined 1010 WINS on April 1, 2008 after spending much of his career split between the CBS and NBC television families.  As an investigative journalist, he has won numerous awards (including broadcast Emmy’s) for outstanding work in covering the drug culture, education, and health issues.

As a National correspondent for NBC News, based in the networks Southwest Bureau, he covered the space shuttle tragedy, preparations for the war in Iraq from the nation’s largest military installation at Ft. Hood, Texas, the Oklahoma City federal bombing trials and other major news events from around the country.

During his successful career, Larry also headed the Dallas News Bureau for NBC/Universal station KXAS where he helped guide the news team to several awards and Nielsen ratings triumphs. He also developed, launched, produced and hosted several shows, including the long running Five Talk Street which continues to air on NBC-5. He later produced and helped launch several nationally syndicated programs, including 20th Century Televisions “Judge Alex” as well as others.

When he’s not anchoring the news on WINS, Larry can be found on-stage at the Brooklyn Tabernacle church, where he “hides out” in the tenor section. And talk about good timing; Singing with the 300-voice choir, he has also been nominated for a 2009 Grammy Award. Mullins resides in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. He is single……and again “28” (been that age since 1988 and loves it!).
