NEW YORK (AP)  -- Police have arrested a 25-year-old man suspected of snatching purses from six women waiting on New York subway platforms during morning rush hours.

1010 WINS AUDIO: Carol D'Auria Reports

Mark McIntosh, 25, was arrested and charged with three counts of grand larceny, three counts of robbery, and one count of resisting arrest.

The latest purse snatching happened at 9:30 a.m. at the "N" and "R" station at Rector Street and Trinity Place Tuesday morning, police said.

Authorities say McIntosh has been charged in six purse snatchings, dating back to May 11 where a woman was robbed on an L train station at 14th Street and 1st Avenue.

Police say each time McIntosh fled into a subway tunnel and disappeared after grabbing a purse.
