Manager Accused of Stealing from NYC Marc Jacobs Store

NEW YORK (AP)  -- A Marc Jacobs manager faces charges that he stole $62,000 from one of the company's celebrity-magnet stores in lower Manhattan.

The Manhattan district attorney's office said Thursday that 24-year-old Kyle Avila is charged with grand larceny in a series of thefts from the West Village store.

Stars reportedly sighted at the pricey boutique include Dakota Fanning and Winona Ryder.

Avila's attorney, Rosemary Vassallo, says Avila has made restitution for the entire amount in question. She says she hopes the case will be settled at a court appearance scheduled for Friday.

A Marc Jacobs corporate representative has not immediately returned calls for comment.
