Mona Rivera has covered everything from politics, crime, and business, to human interest stories. She was proud to fly with the Navy Blue Angels and not throw up or pass out during the aerobatic maneuvers!
You first heard Mona on WINS in March 2001. Prior to that, her career included stints as the news director of WQXR, the radio station of The New York Times; a national network anchor for the CBS Radio network; and a street reporter and anchor at WNEW-AM & FM. She has freelanced for The Wall Street Journal Radio network, NBC Radio News, and WPIX-TV.
Mona has won numerous awards including the prestigious Front Page Award from the Newswomen's Club of New York, and broadcast awards from the National Commission on Working Women.
Mona has an MBA in finance and a BA in journalism, both from New York University, where she was appointed a Macmillan Fellow for business journalism.
