More Layoffs in A.C. as Casinos Struggle

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP)  -- Atlantic City's casinos are being hit hard by the economic downturn.

Resorts Atlantic City says its missing a crucial loan payment that could jeopardize its future.

And Tropicana Casino and Resort is laying off 50 supervisors. Officials there say the layoffs won't affect customer service.

While Resorts and Tropicana have been hit particularly hard, the city's nine other casinos have been affected as well.

Earlier this month, the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa laid off 400 workers, also citing the worsening economy.
