N.Y. to Atlantic City Train Service to Start in '09

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP)  -- Express weekend train service from New York City to Atlantic City will start in early 2009.

That's the word from the head of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.

Tom Carver says there are plenty of people in New York City who won't ride a bus to Atlantic City, but will take a train.

Referred to as "ACES,'' the trains will be owned by a consortium of the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Caesars Atlantic City and Harrah's Resort Atlantic City.

The train will make one stop, in Newark.
