NJ Pre-School, Church Damaged in 3-Alarm Fire

NEW JERSEY (1010 WINS)  -- A three-alarm fire in New Jersey Monday night  caused serious damage to a church and pre-school, officials say.

The blaze began at around 11 p.m. in a school located behind the Church of the Good Shepherd in Midland Park.

Steve Sandberg reports

Firefighters from many local communities responded to the fire trying to save the parish.

Officials say some of the important religious artifacts were saved from the flames.

Authorities are labeling the fire as suspicious and investigators were expected to bring in dogs to find any clues as to how the fire started and to see if an accelerant was involved.

No injuries have been reported.
