NEW YORK (AP)  -- A red fire truck left idle on Governors Island in New York Harbor a decade ago by the Coast Guard has been sold for $75,000, on Craigslist.

It's the first time that officers of the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation have made a sale on the popular classifieds Web site.

The truck with a 100-foot-long extendable arm was sold to the Prospect Fire Company in southern Pennsylvania.

The truck was listed on Craigslist as "for sale by owner." The 1993 Pierce aerial platform truck with a 450-horsepower motor was sold "as is."

City agencies don't usually use the online Web sites, instead preferring to auction off their surplus equipment.
