NEW YORK -- New York City's largest labor union has reached a deal with Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration that gives over 100,000 workers a raise of more than 8 percent over two years.
The contract with District Council 37 raises the pay for city employees in more than 1,000 different job titles, including school aides, social workers, court stenographers, zoo keepers, city chaplains and computer programmers.
The agreement covers the period from March 2008 to March 2010.
