BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -- Connecticut's new Juvenile Court and Detention Center is done, nearly three years ago after it confronted scandal and opposition in Bridgeport and in the state Capitol.
State officials say the security aspects of the $40 million building along Bridgeport's downtown waterfront are state of the industry.
Workers are finishing interior details in the next few weeks and state officials are planning a gradual occupancy.
State public works and judicial officials say there's enough room for various programs, including medical and dental care and psychological attention for youngsters.
