NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is mourning the loss of a brave, four-legged member of its family.
'Bravo' the dog was not only among the search and rescue dogs to work at Ground Zero, but he and his handler, Officer Joseph Caputo, also helped out in Mississippi, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Bravo and Caputo also appeared last year on "1010 WINS Live Online," a Webcast that marked the 6th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.
Bravo was put to rest last Thursday, at the age of 12, after suffering from serious spinal degeneration.
Caputo called Bravo the "best partner he could have asked for."
