ISLAND PARK, N.Y. (1010 WINS)  -- Police are looking for whomever beat a 35-year-old mother of two in her Island Park, Long Island home on Monday.

The woman's husband told police that he received a call Monday afternoon that his wife never picked up their children from day camp. The husband went to get the kids and then drove to his home where he found his wife bloodied and beaten. 

The couple's neighbor, Josephine, said he [the husband] ran to her house in a panic. "He asked me to watch the kids because he said his wife was on the ground in a pool of blood."

The woman was left in a semi-comatose state with injuries around her face and head, police said. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing was missing from the home, police added. 

Authorities are investigating whether this was a home invasion or whether this woman was attacked by someone she knew.
