NEW YORK (AP) -- Not quite financially ready for retirement? You're not the only one.
A poll taken in the New York City metro area has found that 59 percent of those surveyed think their standard of living will decline after they retire. Some 27 percent think it will stay the same, and just 8 percent believe it will improve.
The WNBC/Marist poll also found that 39 percent of respondents don't have money put aside for their retirements.
The poll was done Monday. It included 406 people in the city, its suburbs, northern New Jersey and southern Connecticut. The margin of sampling error is plus or minus 5 percentage points. |
