NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A livery cab driver has been arrested and charged with stealing credit card information from dozens of his passengers.
Prosecutors say 23-year-old Jagmeet Singh, who has addresses in the Bronx and Queens, made impressions of customers' credit cards and used the numbers to pay for more than $2,000 worth of EZPasses.
Authorities say EZPass officials alerted them after credit card companies declined dozens of transactions as fraudulent.
Singh, who is being held by police, faces a slew of charges including identity fraud, criminal possession of stolen property, scheme to fraud, and criminal possession of stolen property.
If convicted he faces a maximum four years in prison.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says Singh was working for Henry Limousine in Woodside between September 2007 and March of this year.
