YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) -- State officials are investigating whether tellers at a Yonkers horse track bet on races while they were on the job.
The state Racing and Wagering Board confirms it has been examining the pari-mutuel department at Yonkers Raceway for about a year, but declined to discuss the probe.
Documents obtained by The Journal News indicate officials are looking into allegations that at least 20 track employees placed bets for themselves and for harness-racing drivers and owners.
The Raceway's general manager, Bob Galterio, said he was unaware of any wrongdoing.
