Sandy Kenyon is heard every hour, 18 times each weekday on 1010 WINS in New York City, covering all aspects of entertainment news. Since joining WINS in January of 1997, Sandy has reported live from backstage at numerous awards shows such as the Grammy, Emmy, Tony and Academy Awards. He is a contributing editor for PARADE magazine and appears twice each weekday morning on WABC-TV's "Eyewitness News This Morning."
Previously, he was CNN's Senior Entertainment Correspondent based in Hollywood for a decade where he was perhaps best known as the voice of "The Hollywood Minute." In addition, he filed thousands of longer news reports and interviewed hundreds of stars such as Frank Sinatra, Bill Cosby, Bette Davis, Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, Julia Roberts, Clint Eastwood, Tom Selleck, Jimmy Stewart, Diana Ross, Warren Beatty, Johnny Carson, Steven Spielberg, Sophia Loren, Lauren Bacall and Paul McCartney - to name only a few.
Before moving to Los Angeles in 1982, Kenyon was employed by CNN in Washington, D.C. where he spent two years as the Writer/Producer for CNN Anchor Bernard Shaw, and was responsible for about 1,000 hours of live TV.
Prior to 1980, Kenyon was based in New York City, where he worked as an Associate Producer for WNET/Thirteen, and also served as personal assistant to the film director Arthur Penn.
Sandy Kenyon is a 1978 graduate of Princeton University, where he began his career in radio by interviewing top newsmakers and celebrities for a syndicated radio show. Among his guests were Barbara Walters and the late Henry Fonda.
In 1991, Sandy took a break from covering Hollywood to host a daily, 3 hour call-in radio talk show near Phoenix, Arizona. "The Sandy Kenyon Show" covered a wide variety of topics with an eclectic list of guests. Among them was novelist Eileen Goudge who talked with Sandy by phone in May of 1994. The two were married about a year later.
