Sens. Arlen Specter and Robert Casey didn't get their Junior's cheesecakes but even though the Phillies lost the World Series a Philadelphia food bank still ended up a winner.
In addition, to the bet between Senators, Philabundance and the Food Bank for New York City made their own wager, and on Tuesday it paid off.
The bet originally stated if the Yankees lost then Hunts Point Terminal Market would donate a truckload of produce to Philabundance and if the Phillies lost the Philadelphia Regional Produce Market would send goods to the Food Bank for New York City.
But on Tuesday the two cities showed some Brotherly Love and good sportsmanship.
The Philadelphia Regional Produce Market delivered tons of food to New York City and Hunts Point Terminal Market returned the favor to Philabundance.
But New York didn't let Philadelphia get off that easy. Truck loaders from Philadelphia wore Yankees gear and the truck traveled up to the Big apple covered in Yankees signs.
