PORT JEFFERSON STATION, N.Y. (AP) -- A 40-year-old man has been charged with firing nine shotgun blasts into his father's Long Island condominium in an ongoing family dispute.
Suffolk County police say Joseph Giardelli Jr. went to his father's home early Tuesday and began shooting. His father and stepmother were inside but were not injured.
Police say the son had recently moved out of his brother's home and was living in a van in the father's condo complex parking lot in Port Jefferson Station.
Giardelli was arrested without incident. He faces arraignment Wednesday on charges of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon in Central Islip.
A spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney didn't know if Giardelli had an attorney.
