Stamford Police Find Bomb Materials After Standoff

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP)  -- Stamford police are investigating a dispute at a home that resulted in a brief standoff and the discovery of bomb making materials.

Police discovered the bomb-making materials Sunday at a home that was at the center of a dispute between the owner and an ex-roommate.

The incident shut down Rock Spring Road for most of the day. Police say the materials were detonated and the investigation is continuing.

Police says the homeowner called police to report that his ex-roommate broke into the house after he was told to leave. But police could not immediately capture the man because he barricaded himself in the attic, leading to a 90-minute negotiation.

Police says charges are likely to be filed.
