Storm to Bring High Winds to New Jersey Coast

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP/ 1010 WINS)  -- The National Weather Service says a coastal storm will bring high winds and tidal flooding to the southern New Jersey shore over the next two days.

AccuWeather Forecast

It's issued a high wind warning for Cape May and extreme southern New Jersey from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Friday. The Weather Service says winds are expected to reach 40 mph with gusts of 60 mph possible.

Farther north, there's a wind advisory in effect, with gusts of 50 mph possible for Long Beach Island and coastal areas of Monmouth County.

Some tidal flooding is also expected.

The winds are remnants of Tropical Storm Ida, which has been tracking northeastward up the coast.

Not a lot of rain is expected, although showers could persist into the weekend in coastal South Jersey.
