NEW YORK (AP/1010 WINS) -- A dump truck struck a foot bridge over the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx Friday morning, causing a nightmare for commuters.

The tractor-trailer crashed into the overpass, causing it to collapse onto the expressway.
All inbound lanes at Waterbury Avenue were closed for several hours because of the early-morning accident. They reopened at around 1 p.m.
The truck driver is in stable condition at a hospital. There were no other injuries reported.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
