Two Drown, One from NYC, in the Delaware River

YULAN, N.Y. (AP)  -- Police say a teenager and a man in his 20s were pulled from the Delaware River after drownings only hours and 22 miles apart near the Pennsylvania state line.

The names of those killed in the Fourth of July incidents were not immediately disclosed while their families were notified.

According to police, a 17-year-old drowned near a falls in the town of Cochecton Friday morning. The teen pronounced dead at Catskill Regional Medical Center.

In the afternoon, downriver near the hamlet of Yulan, police say a man from the New York City area who was staying at a campground was swimming at a popular spot where the water gets deeper. His body was pulled from the river about 6:15 p.m.
