Upstate Man Struck, Killed by Falling Tree Limb

WOLCOTT, N.Y. (AP)  -- Authorities say a man has died after a large tree limb fell on him while he was cutting it at a central New York home.

Officials in Wayne County say the tree service employee was using a bucket truck to cut a limb off a tree outside a house in Wolcott when the accident occurred around 2 p.m. Monday.

Wolcott emergency officials say the limb crashed on top of the bucket, trapping him underneath as the bucket crashed to the ground.

The man was taken to Newark-Wayne Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities haven't released the man's name.
