NEW YORK (AP) -- Metro-North Rail Road and the city of Yonkers will stage a full scale emergency preparedness exercise on Saturday at the Glenwood train station. The drill will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will not affect train service.
It will involve responders dealing with a hypothetical hazardous materials release involving a Metro-North train stopped in Yonkers with panicked customers and injuries.
The exercise is intended to prepare responders to deal with a threatening individual, the potential of radiological hazards and understanding crowd psychology.
A train evacuation will be practiced.
