Two Sought in Shooting at Day Care Center Doorstep

NEW YORK (AP)  -- Gunfire outside a Queens day care center has left one dead and police looking for two gunmen. Police say it happened just before 10 a.m. Monday on 110th street in Jamaica.

Police say Dwight Dent, 29, apparently ran to the house for safety because he knew one of the people who lived there. He was shot five times on the doorstep.

There were four children in the center at the time -- ages 11 months to 4 years. None were injured.

Police say the day care center was not licensed.
