Most Popular Baby Names in NYC: Michael and Ashley
NEW YORK (AP) -- Michael continues a 26-year reign as the most popular boys' name in New York City.
The city Health Department said Friday that Ashley has bumped Emily for the No. 1 girl's name, reclaiming the first place status it has held from 1992 to 2002.
The second most popular names on the list are Daniel and Emily.
Newcomers to the Top 10 list for 2006 -- the latest compiled figures -- are Madison (for a girl) and Mia. Departing the Top 10 list are Olivia, Rachel and Nicholas.
Other popular girls' names: Isabella, Sarah, Kayla, Sophia, Brianna and Samantha. For boys: Matthew, Joshua, Justin, Christopher, David, Joseph, Anthony and Jayden.
