NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The hunt is over for an armed ATM bandit in Manhattan.
Police say they have arrested 37-year-old James Palmer outside a methadone clinic in midtown Manhattan Saturday morning.
Palmer is suspected in at least eight gunpoint robberies at ATM machines in Greenwich Village, the Lower East Side and Midtown. He's struck almost every day this week. Apparently, he takes Mondays off.
The first holdup was last Saturday at a Chase Bank at 109 Delancey Street. The latest occured Friday at around 5:30 p.m. at a Chase ATM at 245 7th Avenue.
No one was hurt in any of the robberies.
The NYPD has provided the dates, times and locations of the eight incidents:
1) ON SATURDAY 10-20-07 AT APPROXIMATELY 8:45 P.M. AT THE CHASE BANK ATM LOCATED AT 109 DELANCY STREET. 25-YEAR OLD WOMAN ROBBED.
2) ON SUNDAY 10-21-07 AT APPROXIMATELY 1:00 A.M. AT THE ATM MACHINE LOCATED AT 535 7 AVE. 49-YEAR OLD WOMAN ROBBED.
3) ON SUNDAY 10-21-07 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:15 A.M. AT THE WASHINGTON MUTUAL ATM LOCATED AT 1431 BROADWAY. 43-YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS ROBBED.
4) ON SUNDAY 10/21/07 AT APPROXIMATELY 8:25 P.M. AT THE CHASE ATM LOCATED AT 349 5 AVE. A 77-YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS ROBBED.
5) ON TUESDAY 10/23/07 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:08 P.M. AT THE CITIBANK ATM LOCATED AT 22 W 32 ST. A 33-YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS ROBBED.
6) ON WEDNESDAY 10/24/07 AT APPROXIMATELY 8:15 P.M. AT THE CHASE ATM LOCATED AT 152 7 AVE. A 25-YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS ROBBED.
7) ON THURSDAY 10/25/07 AT APPROXIMATELY 2:40 P.M. AT THE WASHINGTON MUTUAL ATM LOCATED AT 1260 BROADWAY. A 36-YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS ROBBED.
8) AN ADDITIONAL INCIDENT OCCURRED ON FRIDAY 10/26/07 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:30 P.M. AT THE CHASE MANHATTAN ATM LOCATED AT 245 7 AVENUE. A 37-YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS ROBBED. IN THIS INCIDENT NO FIREARM WAS DISPLAYED. THE MONEY WAS TAKEN BY FORCE, NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.
